Garlic Butter Shrimp
Shrimp seared in butter with garlic and red pepper flakes, then finished with a quick white wine reduction - the wine and chili flakes are what most simplified versions skip, along with patting the shrimp dry first so they sear instead of steam.

Ingredients
- •1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- •4 tbsp butter, divided
- •4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- •1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- •1/2 cup dry white wine
- •1 tbsp lemon juice
- •2 tbsp chopped parsley
- •Salt and pepper to taste
Steps
- 1.Pat the shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper - removing the moisture first is what lets them sear instead of steam.
- 2.Melt half the butter in a skillet over medium heat, then add the garlic and red pepper flakes and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds, watching closely so the garlic doesn't burn.
- 3.Add the shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until just turning pink.
- 4.Pour in the white wine and lemon juice, and simmer until reduced by half, about 2 minutes.
- 5.Remove from heat, stir in the remaining butter until melted, then toss with parsley and serve immediately.
